History

Founded on October 3rd, 1948, Farmington First Baptist Church began with 58 charter members who gathered at our original location at Main and Church Streets. While a church is not a building (it is a group of called-out believers in Jesus), we have been blessed as a body with our large building on Rheas Mill Road that includes the Worship Center in 1993, and then in 2008/2009 we built The Edge for our student ministry and Kids Zone for our children. The church celebrated becoming debt free in 2021.

Seven decades and 17 pastors later bring us to today. Farmington First is a vibrant contemporary church, filled with people of all ages. To God be the glory for the story He is unfolding before us at Farmington First

Beliefs

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy church; the New Testament ordinances of communion and baptism by immersion; the gathering of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting.

The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is absolute truth and the supreme authority in all matters of belief and behavior.
